There are many ways to achieve good fitness and not all of them involve going to the gym.
Eat Well
The first part of good fitness is to adjust your diet if you do not have enough energy. One thing that can decrease energy is drinking too much soda. This can result in lethargy after a while. If you substitute your soda for water you will feel better prepared to exercise.

Involve Your Friends
If you have friends you like to visit it is easy to involve them in your exercise plans. Imagine if you usually go to the cinema. You could suggest going for a walk. If they do not want to do something so pedestrian then you could suggest walking around in a museum or other big building. If you involve your friends in your fitness plans it is harder to cancel them. Plus if you are having fun with your friends like you are exercising it can make it more fun. If you are having fun then you will not hesitate to exercise again.
Substitute Driving for Walking or Biking
There are times when you have to go someplace but it is not out of the question to get on your bike and go rather than take the car. Maybe you are visiting friends in your neighbourhood. If they live close you can walk or bike. It can be a fun and social way to travel. You can catch up with your other neighbours or examine their lawn decorations.
Take the Stairs
There are times when it can be tempting to take the lift. If you are in a skyscraper maybe it is not feasible to take the stairs. If you are in a smaller building though there is no reason not to take the stairs. It is also a good way to get exercise if you are stuck in your office on a break.
This general idea can be substituted in to many of your daily situations. If you do not like to fight for the best parking space you can park in the back and get exercise by walking more to your destination. Any time you can choose to exercise more do it.
Find An Outdoor Hobby
There are a bunch of different outdoor hobbies and most of them require you to get exercise. There are activities that you can do in your own yard that require exercise. Lawn and garden maintenance can give you a moderate amount of exercise. Putting new plants in your yard can be hard work. It involves lifting and digging. Another idea is to play lawn games with your kids or house-mates. You can kick a football around or play a casual game of whatever sport you like.
Join a Club
Having an interest in fitness is a hobby a lot of people share. There are also many ways to accomplish your fitness goals. If you need multiple people to exercise with you should join a club. It can help to motivate you to be more active if you know that other people are relying on you to show up and complete the specific activity.
There is another great reason to join a club which is if you are direction-less and do not know the best way to achieve your fitness goals. Many clubs will have an advisor who can help you determine the best way to get fit.
Variety of Activities
The same activity every day can lead to boredom. You do not have to fit your fitness into a particular schedule. You can set vague goals such as “I will exercise everyday.” Having an itinerary for how you are going to exercise everyday can set you up for failure. If you miss a day you might think that there is no point in continuing. The point of all this is to give yourself some flexibility. Not everyone can work out under a rigorous structure and that is okay.
Use Caution Before Vigorous Activity
Once you have developed a general fitness level you might want to do more vigorous activities. That is okay but it might be helpful to visit your doctor first. They can help you screen your fitness regimen and help you avoid overexertion.
Even if you do not decide to go to the doctor there are some other activities you can do before exercising to help avoid damage to your body. The first is to stretch. Make sure you are stretching your leg and arm muscles. This can help to avoid muscle fatigue and soreness. The second thing you should be sure to do is warm-up with a brisk walk or slow jog.
